NTSB Chair Testifies at Renomination Hearing

Chair Homendy expresses her commitment to travel safety before the Senate panel.

The Senate Commerce Committee held a hearing for the renomination of Jennifer Homendy as chair of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). As the panel assessed her ability for the retention of her position, Chair Homendy conveyed her commitment to identifying the factors behind air, rail, marine, pipeline, and highway accidents. She conveyed her dedication to highlighting travel safety violations within the thousands of investigations the NTSB conducts annually.

“On scene, my most important duty is to brief the families on what is often the worst day of their lives. It’s why I fight so hard for NTSB safety recommendations,” Chair Homendy told the committee during her testimony. If she is reconfirmed as board chair, she said she will continue serving “as a fierce advocate for improving transportation safety.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Chair Homendy as she testifies before the Senate committee on her vision for the NTSB.
  • For members of the Senate panel to be discerning regarding the current chair’s qualifications and record to retain her position.
